At 16.30 on 18th of May 2018 – was the official opening of the Festival “Urbino e le Città del Libro”. After the official speech of the artistic director Mr. Alessio Torino, the Mayor of Urbino Mr. Maurizio Gambini welcomed the participants of the festival. Some warm words were said by the Vice Mayor of the city Urbino Mr. Roberto Cioppi.

On the opening

After the speeches, organisers of the Festival, Mayor of Urbino, participants, guests and visitors went to see the exhibitions of the Festival, to see the “8th International Artist’s Book Triennial Vilnius 2018”, “Pampa, Tango Y Jazz / Jose Munoz”, “Produzione Propria / Alessandro Baronciani, and “66THAND2ND / Il Progetto Grafico”.

Prof. Kestutis Vasiliunas in the Conference

Prof. Kestutis Vasiliunas participated in the Conference “Urbino e le Città del Libro”, where he was talking about the situation of artist’s books in the world, about “Artist’s Book Triennial Vilnius Vilnius” and about his activity with artist’s books during 25 years.

“8th Artist’s Book Triennial Vilnius” is the part of the Festival “Urbino e le Città del Libro” (“Urbino and towns of the books”). So, we can say that Vilnius is one of the towns of books, and that is truth, and we are very proud of it.

The next place, where we will show the “8th International Artist’s Book Triennial Vilnius 2018” will be Vilnius! Opening of the exhibition in Vilnius – 6 p.m., 19th of July 2018.
