This is the second stage of the educational project for students from the schools – creation of an artist’s book from printed linocut, based on the collage principle.
In the beginning Jurgita Sprindziuniene gave a lecture for the students in the exhibition of the “8th International Artist’s Book Triennial Vilnius 2018” about what is an “artist’s book”, styles and method of creation of it.
In the Library, in the education centre for children and students we have made the exhibition of printed linocuts, created during first stage of artist’s book workshop.
In the beginning of the artist’s book workshop students listened to Lithuanian mythological tales. From printed linocuts created in the first stage of the project by other students from the art school they had to cut most important parts. Using collage technique students had to create double page for interpretation the text from the Lithuanian mythological stories.
In the project participated 11 students from the Vilnius Justinas Vienozinskis Art School Naujoji Vilnia branch & Tuskulenai Gymnasium, & Uzupis Gymnasium, Vilnius.
The last stage of the project will be in the Vilnius Justinas Vienozinskis Art School Naujoji Vilnia branch where they will has to connect all double pages with wooden cover in one artist’s book in accordion style.
